We continue to run a residency programme, tailored to each artist’s individual needs. This can be developing new work, expanding old work, experimenting in installation techniques, developing websites and crowdfunding or even taking time to reflect on their practices. We also support artists and curators who simply need access to space to develop, test or rehearse particular projects.

Each artist in residence will receives two weeks use of our project space, together with support from our management team and a small grant to cover materials or other expenses, dependent on available budget and the artist’s requirements. Our programme was developed as a continuation of the dedication to supporting artists praciced by The Wig (who provided free of charge exhibition space to Vicky Roden, Hipkiss & Graney and Kurt Hickson among others) and Alex Billingham’s curatorial residency ‘Gestalt’ during 2017 where they provided curatorial support to artists including Kate Spence, Dan Auluk and Marcus Keating.
As we are an entirely independent space this funding comes primarily from donations made at public facing events.
